A 64-acre Nature Reserve exists just a short drive from Kota Kinabalu city, an ideal opportunity for nature enthusiasts without the time to travel to Sabah’s east coast to experience a piece of Sabah’s nature. This reserve was created as a platform to rehabilitate endangered flora and fauna endemic to Sabah; most significantly, is the rehabilitation efforts of the Orang-utan.
During a visit to this protected site located in the district of Tuaran, one can spot birds native only to Borneo from a canopy walkway, and learn more about the natural habitats of Orang-utans and current rehabilitation efforts. Grab the chance to see orphaned baby Orang-utans from a viewing platform.
Working closely with the Sepilok Orang-utan Rehabilitation Centre in Sandakan, this Nature Reserve provides educational programmes for local students across Sabah and actively conducts nature awareness and educational activities for visitors from all over the world.
